Architectural shingles on a golf-course custom
Patricia H. · Pasco County
The problem
A large custom in Saddlebrook with a circular paver drive, screen enclosure, and an HOA that reviews color. The existing roof was at the end of Florida life — algae on the north, brittle tabs on the south.
What we did
Tear-off, Florida wind fastening, qualifying GAF system so Golden Pledge could be registered. Ridge vent tied to clear soffit intake. Pavers and palms protected; dumpster sat on plywood in the drive, not on the circle.
The result
A uniform gray architectural roof that reads from the fairway, Golden Pledge paperwork in Patricia’s file, and a cage that still sits on a dry wall.
Complexities on this job
- Many hips on a one-story custom — more flashing than a production two-story
- Screen-cage interface. Water that gets under the cage flashing does not dry
- HOA color board. We submitted the shingle before a dumpster hit the lot
- Circular paver drive and mature palms — staging and cleanup were half the job
